Jagged Alliance: Back In Action is Coreplay’s remake of Jagged Alliance 2, a tactical role-playing game back from 1999, aiming to improve the original concept and visuals of the original, while keeping the original’s characters and plot. It was released in late 2011, 13 years after the original one, changing the storyline a little so it would adapt better to the gaming world of nowadays.

Pineapple Smash Crew is a game solely developed and published by a man named Rich of Richmakegame. A strange name for a developer equals an equally strange game for a player. The game is available on Steam for 10 dollars at the time of writing.

Victoria 2: A House Divided is an expansion pack developed by, and published by Paradox Interactive. A House Divided aims to improve the political, economical aspects of the game. Additionally, it gives the player a chance to experience the beginning of the American Civil War, whether it is as the US, or as Japan, or any other country. The expansion pack also offers new routes for your country to take, and a deeper political system, along with many other goodies to get bang for your buck.

Crusader Kings II, developed and published by Paradox Interactive, is the sequel to the 2005 in depth strategy game, Crusader Kings. The first game was a monster of a dynasty game, meaning that a player doesn’t control an entire nation like they might in the Total War series, but instead controls the heirs to the throne. Paradox Interactive is by no means a new contender to these extremely complex and deep strategy games. They have released titles such as Hearts of Iron and the Europa Universalis series. Both of these games have a cult following as does the first Crusader Kings, due to the sheer depth of the style of game and inapproachability it doesn’t exactly appeal to the mainstream gaming audience. This is actually the first time I will be reviewing or playing a strategy game of this much depth and scale. So don’t get offended if the only thing I can compare this to is the Civilization and Total War Series.

Titan Attacks! is the latest release from Puppy Games. It’s basically a modern take on Space Invaders. It’s a damn good thing I love Space Invaders then.

The Darkness 2 from Digital Extremes represents a stylistic overhaul for the series – it’s faster, brighter and much more violent than it’s predecessor – even funny at times. Sure the atmosphere and tone differ to Starbreeze’s original Darkness title, but the changes Digital Extremes have made are on the whole, for the better.

Limbo was a game that was created by Playdead (indie developer), and published by both Microsoft Studio for the Xbox 360 during mid 2010, and later released by Playdead for both the PSN and PC during 2011. To be frank, Limbo is a single-player, 2D side scrolling, and puzzle-platform game, which incorporates the idea of a nameless boy entering Limbo to save his sister from a certain tragic fate.

Hitbox Team have created what is sure-to-be a runaway success in Dustforce, given the right promotion, price-point or placement in a popular indie bundle. You play as, what is effectively a ninja caretaker (or janitor, for those of you hailing from the other side of the Atlantic). You run, flip and slide your way through the levels sweeping up leaves, dust and any other detritus left behind by the...well the game never tells you the name of the bad guys. So to counter the good guys' Dustforce moniker, I'll call the bad guys the Dustbastards. Dustforce is a fantastic platformer requiring incredible precision and patience. More so than Super Meat Boy.

Anno 2070 is the newest game by Ubisoft and Related Designs. It is a sequel of a large family of games in the same style, the latest being Anno 1701. This game plays like a cross between an RTS and Sim City, with wonderful attention to detail and innovative and interesting online elements.
