Dota 2 Closed Beta Game Preview

One of the most anticipated games Valve has been developing is coming soon. Dota 2, the sequel to DotA has a lot of hype and has a lot to live up to. Rivaling one of the most played and biggest game on the Internet, League of Legends, Dota 2 has much work to get done. But Valve being one of the best gaming companies around can pretty much go toe-to-toe with anyone...or can they?

My experience playing the game was fantastic. They have put a lot of work into this game and it shows. The beginning is a bit confusing though. When you start the game it opens to a gaming menu right away. Shows the news and updates, but you have to search for the play button. One great feature in this over the last game is the practice lobby. You can actually of in and practice against other new players. This is great for helping you grow and become much better at the game so you don't feel so left out of the curve if you jump into a ranked match.

The game settings are amazing the positions they set your hot-keys, the feel and smoothness of the positions are perfect. Since this is still in closed beta, Dota 2 doesn't have a live tutorial yet so you can't go through a step by step process of learning how to play. They give you, like I said before, a practice arena, but no where were if your a first time player to this type of game you have a chance to find the layout of the game. It's ok though as you ca catch on very fast to how it works. Thanks to the amazing key layout and great tips the games give you it helps new players move along faster in the learning path.

If you haven't noticed yet, the game is strictly multiplayer. There are two types of playing modes, Practice where you can, like I said above, practice playing with certain heroes,or just learn how to play or learn new builds for characters. This lobby is super helpful for the ones who really want to get better at the game. The other type of mode is ranked mode. You join a lobby who has room for another player before starting. and once the lobby is full the lobby host is starts up the game. When you get into the game you get this screen that comes up and allows you to pick through about 20 characters for who you want to play as. There are three type of key elements characters play as, the strength agility or intelligent. The experience I got while playing a ranked game was that you don't have a chance is you haven't practiced with that character. The players on the ranked are all very experienced, play very well together and dominate their opponents.

My experience playing Dota 2 was spectacular. I love hero/minion based games. I would recommend this game to only players who have played a hero/minion game ( I.E: League of Legends, and Dota). The game could be very frustrating for the new to learn how to play since there is no tutorial or way to learn with out just practice. People don't want to practice they want to play figure out how to play before jumping into games! For those of you who have played this style of games. PLAY THIS GAME. The game is intensely fun and addicting. I will for sure keep playing this game. Hopefully I get better at it so I can actually win a ranked match!
